Portfolio reel · revision 12 · production and source credits.
Directed through conversation with Adrian Hensler. Local editing, assembly and original sound composition by OpenAI Codex. No narration.
This reel was created with OpenAI Codex through conversation with Adrian Hensler: sequence design, shot timing, local animation/compositing, captions, original score, editing and assembly. Image generation and the final butterfly flight used the separately credited models. The on-screen video-making prompt is a condensed production brief, not an exact transcript. Existing projects retain their own histories and page credits.
Adrian Hensler. Original photograph preserved unchanged; cropped, animated and blended in the reel. The Blender construction is a limited-angle model with inferred hidden detail. Its final match uses an overlay of the original photograph.
Native butterfly geometry, material refinement, keyed movement and progressive construction renders. The previously rejected local flight is excluded. Only the selected construction passage is retimed, from 11.5 to 10.5 seconds.
Open-source Anatomy skill and local SVG drawing kit, copyright 2026 Ryan, MIT License. Used for the pinhole cutaway; the site tour also captures the collection’s eagle-eye study. Custom drawings and adaptations are independent work and imply no endorsement or scientific validation by the toolkit creator. Full upstream licence notice follows.
Built-in image generation supplied the greenhouse creation/edits and generated hand-held print reference. The hand is an anonymous generated hand, not a photograph of Adrian’s hand. Project-page illustrations are labelled and credited on those pages. No exact image model version is asserted.
The selected first attempt generated the ten-second butterfly emergence and lens approach. Native 1280 × 720 output is upscaled to the 1080p master, with a short final dissolve to exact amber. One attempt only; estimated US$1.80 against the previously approved US$6 cap. No new paid generation for these finishing changes.
Original quiet instrumental composition and synthesized image-edit/air/flutter effects, authored locally using Python and NumPy. No narration or existing song. FFmpeg mixes, conforms, encodes and verifies the master; Pillow supplies typography and compositing. The opening adds an original locally synthesized fast-forward flutter, selected from a short A/B comparison. It stops at five seconds and reveals the existing calm score.
Short edited events from Adrian’s loom project: treadle-a, shuttle-a and beater-a. Generated previously with Stability AI Stable Audio 2.5 via Replicate. Confirmed from the three local succeeded prediction receipts; no new audio API call. The browser tour uses the authored score rather than captured browser audio.
Actual public browser pages and their functioning controls, captured at 1585 × 892 or 1600 × 900 and fitted into the landscape reel with an editorial matte. The Halloween gameplay in the tour is accelerated from seven seconds to 4.5; other tour interactions retain normal time. Larger editorial captions describe each destination; full project links are on the accompanying page. The main reel’s earlier game remains 1.6×, and its loom overhead hold remains 2.5 seconds.
